The two entities have signed a collaboration agreement for the granting of scholarships to children victims of terrorism.
In Spain, the Real Madrid Foundation develops 50 football and basketball socio-sports schools with values in the Community of Madrid, Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla y León, Region of Murcia and Ceuta. These schools address technical-tactical, physical-motor, human values and regulation content, applying their specific methodology For a REAL education: values and sport to the weekly training sessions. With this, it contributes to the development of the abilities of children and young people, with the aim of training them as people in an integral way, using sport as an educational vehicle and leaving the competition in the background.
Participants in socio-sports schools are not federated. They play a playful and educational socio-sports tournament, where what matters is not the result, but the performance, because the important thing for the Real Madrid Foundation is to educate children in positive values, with and without resources, transmitting the value of equal rights and obligations, and promoting the common and universal values of team sport.
Schools are organized by categories according to the age of the participants, ranging from 5 to 17 years. Training sessions begin in October and end in June. There are two sessions a week of an hour and a half in the case of football, and one hour in the case of basketball. During the season the socio-sports tournament between schools in the Sports City of the Real Madrid.
