The state of the autonomies has failed. It is not a diagnosis, it is evidence. This was highlighted by Santiago Morón, in the debate on the Community.

In his first words, he has shown condolences to the relatives of the more than 1600 deceased to date in Aragon. And it has encouraged patients, especially the more than 850 admitted to Aragonese hospitals. And he has thanked the work of so many people who take care of us all on a daily basis.

Morón has pointed out that President Lambán delivered a headlining speech, self-indulgent and with little content. And in which he demonstrated the ignorance that his government has of the social reality of Aragon. Or worse still, how little the social reality of the Aragonese matters to him.

In his speech, the spokesperson for VOX in Aragon made a general assessment of the government's action this year. He then delved into the measures that the government has adopted in the health, social, educational and economic areas. And he ended by referring to the Government Plan presented by Lambán.

Government action

Morón has highlighted that the main occupation of the government has been to find accommodation for its partners. And an oversized Government has resulted with an unnecessary increase in the number of Ministries and General Directors. And therefore of political spending.

From that moment on, the only occupation of his government was to draw up a new budget. And leave aside other functions of its competence, such as the legislative initiative, which has been very scarce, Morón has stated.

In reference to the crisis caused by COVID-19 Morón has highlighted the extraordinary work of health and social health personnel. Without their assistance the tragedy would have acquired even greater dimensions. For the VOX spokesperson, the lack of coordination between the Ministry of Health and the Public Health Services dependent on the Health Departments of the Autonomous Communities has been evidenced.

The Government has not adequately protected the citizens. Nor has it protected healthcare professionals. But the government has not been able to foresee the lack of personnel, intensivists, primary care doctors and nurses either. The situation of exhaustion of professionals and the risk of saturation of the health system, both in primary and specialized care is a consequence of this, Morón stressed.

And in relation to the recently approved health regulations, which regulate the situation of Health Alert in Aragon with measures to control the pandemic. As with the new declaration of the state of Alarm, Morón recalled that VOX is clearly against the measures adopted. These measures, not supported by any known scientific committee, we consider that they will be scarcely effective in the objective of stopping the pandemic, has indicated the spokesperson for VOX in Aragon.

However, in addition to violating fundamental rights, we very much fear that they will be very effective in bringing the hospitality sector to ruin, among others, and increasing the misery and poverty of many Aragonese, he concluded. Morón has referred to the action of the Government in the social sphere, the minimum vital income and the Aragonese insertion income. Also to the educational and economic sphere.

Government plan

Morón reminded Lambán of yesterday's reference to budgets: “the new budgets are an excellent opportunity to improve, to resume the path prior to the pandemic. To walk towards a social, green and digital Aragon ”. Just what taxi drivers, health workers, hoteliers, freelancers, merchants, and the Aragonese citizenship as a whole demand, Santiago Morón has pointed out with irony.

Europe is not going to pay the coronavirus bill in full. Not wanting to see this reality is to shirk your responsibility to suppress superfluous expenses. Morón has described Lambán's defense of self-government as contradictory. Given the seriousness of what is to come, and the dependence on the arrival of national and European funds. But he has also criticized the grotesque that we are experiencing as a consequence of the state of the autonomies. A failed model. And it is not a diagnosis. It is evidence.

Overcome uncertainty

Finally, Santiago Morón has picked up the glove of President Lambán. Regarding the obligation to overcome uncertainty. To avoid the frentism. And advocate for a social, political and historical stability, to get out of this crisis.

To get out of this crisis, it is indeed necessary to generate certainty and guarantee legal certainty. Morón has demanded that the decisions that affect us all be made on the basis of scientifically proven health criteria. And that the Government of Spain work to strengthen the rule of law based on the separation of powers and respect for fundamental rights.

Only if there is that confidence in the system can we ensure that the implementation of economic reactivation programs can be successful. If your government works along these lines and moves away from sectarianism, the VOX Parliamentary Group will be at your disposal. It is the future of the Aragonese and of future generations that is at stake, Santiago Morón has concluded.
