The Order also determines that workers in transport services who have direct contact with passengers must also be provided with masks, as well as having access to hydro-alcoholic solutions.
On the other hand, the Order establishes new occupation criteria for land transportation.
Thus, in private tourism vehicles, two people can travel for each row of seats, provided that they wear face masks and respect the maximum possible distance between occupants. This same criterion will be applied for the complementary private transport carried out in tourism vehicles, which is the one that companies carry out for their personnel with their own means of transport.
This possibility extends to other vehicles that only have a row of seats, such as cabins for heavy vehicles, vans or similar, in which two people can travel as long as they use the corresponding mask. Otherwise, only the driver may travel.
On the other hand, in public passenger transport carried out in tourist vehicles, that is, taxi and VTC, two people can move for each row of seats, except for the driver, where only he will travel.
In the case of bus and rail transport, two different cases are distinguished:
- In vehicles or wagons in which all occupants must be seated, the maximum occupancy is set at 50% of the available seats, always keeping the row after the driver's seat empty in the case of buses.
- In the event that there is also the possibility of transporting standing passengers, two passengers per square meter in these areas and 50% of the available seats are established as an occupation reference.
Provisions are also included in order to ensure that there is an orderly movement of passengers at stations, transport interchanges, airports or maritime stations, in order to avoid crowds, as well as the reinforcement of information measures on the need to keep the safety distance and hygiene measures.
And finally, the competent administrations will be able to modify the business hours if necessary to reduce the intensity of the demand for public transport at peak times in their respective territories.
