DramaTOURgia, the result of the agreement between Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID) and the National Dramatic Center (CDN), arrives this year to its third edition taking contemporary Spanish theater abroad, hand in hand with current authors who undertake an itinerary, to impart workshops throughout the network of cultural centers of Spanish Cooperation and of the Embassies in Latin America and Africa.

In this third edition, the following dramatists will collaborate for the moment:

  • Íñigo Guardamino: Uruguay (19-21 August), Paraguay (22-24 August), Argentina (26-28 August) and Chile (2-4 September).
  • Antonio Rojano: Costa Rica (November 4-6), Panama (November 8-12), Guatemala (November 14-18) and Honduras (November 20-22).

The objective of this program is to show the current scenic landscape, to publicize and disseminate the contemporary Spanish drama abroad, as well as to train groups and cultural agents interested in dramatic creation, with training sessions that will be taught in the cultural centers of Spain outside of Latin America and Africa, and within the framework of the most important appointments and festivals of each venue.

With a recognized artistic career, all the participants in DramaTOURgia have been part of the programming of the National Dramatic Center during the last seasons, reaping public success and criticism with his productions presented in the center to date. Among other playwrights and stage creators have participated in the previous calls: Carolina Africa, Quique Bazo, Lola Blasco Alberto Conejero, Carlos Contreras, Denise Despeyroux, Felix Estaire, Nando Lopez, Diana I. Luque and Lucia Miranda.

The program DramaTOURgia has been held twice, the first in 2016/2017 and the second in 2017/2018.
