The Ministry of Health has sent the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency a model data sheet that has been distributed among the airlines to be completed by passengers. In this document they must record their data and identify the place where they will carry out the quarantine. The documentation also includes a small epidemiological survey. Upon arrival in Spain, passengers must deliver this document.
In addition, the Ministry has issued an instruction establishing sanitary controls on the arrival of travelers, including taking the temperature.
The Order that has entered into force today, published in the Official State Gazette on May 12, establishes that these people will have to remain in their home or accommodation, and must limit their movements only to acquire food, pharmaceuticals and basic necessities; attend health centers, services and establishments; and for reasons of force majeure or need. These movements will be carried out with a mask.
This measure will be applied during the entire extension period of the Alarm State and the health authorities may contact the people in quarantine to monitor them.
In the event of any suspicious symptoms of COVID-19, it will be the people in quarantine who must call by phone to the numbers enabled by the autonomous communities, indicating that they are in a situation of isolation because they come from abroad. Also, these people will maintain all the hygiene and prevention measures, "especially with regard to contact with cohabitants," the order states.
Travel agencies, tour operators and transport companies must inform travelers of these measures at the beginning of the process of selling tickets to Spain. In the case of aircraft, companies will provide a public health form to locate passengers.
These measures will not apply to cross-border workers, carriers and crews, as well as health professionals who are going to carry out their work, provided they have not been in contact with people diagnosed with COVID-19.
