The Secretary of State for Tourism has made available to the sector of Housing for Tourist Use a Guide of good practices to avoid contagion by coronavirus in workers and clients.

"It is essential that all tourist accommodations have a protocol adapted to their characteristics that guarantees the safety of tourists and workers," stressed the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fernando Valdés; “The preparation of these guides places Spain in a position of reference for its commitment to the safety and protection of visitors, as recognized by the World Tourism Organization, while at the same time favoring the possibility of continuing to enjoy tourism at times such as the current ones".

Prepared by the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality and agreed with employers and unions, this tool aims to serve as a single health protocol for the activity of the Tourist Use Homes legally recognized as such in their Autonomous Community. However, the VUTs that are marketed by rooms are excluded, as well as those in which there are no workers hired directly or indirectly (workers in charge or through subcontracted companies).

It joins the twenty guides promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism, under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, to facilitate the adoption of measures that guarantee the development of tourist activity with the maximum guarantees of sanitary security.
