The VOX Asturias Parliamentary Group has registered this morning a Proposal No of Law (NLP) in the Asturian Parliament urging the regional government to the "immediate" opening of retail stores, hotel and restaurant establishments, as well as sports centers provided they meet the conditions mandatory health. The spokesperson for VOX Asturias, Ignacio Blanco, who this morning attended the rally held in Oviedo in support of the thousands of Asturians who have seen their businesses closed (the deputy, Sara Álvarez Rouco, attended the rally in Gijón), has explained the urgency of decreeing "immediately" the opening of this type of establishment.
From VOX Asturias, the proposal presented to the Asturian Parliament recalls that "Asturian shops, sports centers and hotels remain closed because they have not been considered an essential activity, without these measures to face a health situation being endorsed by the necessary technical reports or providing the objective reasons that justify these tragic closures that condemn employees, freelancers and entrepreneurs. And all this, while other communities such as Madrid keep commerce and hospitality open while improving their health data ”, says the spokesperson.
In this sense, "the effort and responsibility of merchants and hoteliers has meant that they are not the focus of significant infections, given compliance with the sanitary measures imposed" and, nevertheless, -Ignacio Blanco continues-, "they are the scapegoat of the populist measures of the Asturian socialist government that has left them behind, being one of the groups hardest hit by the coronavirus crisis ”.
In the opinion of the spokesperson, “the discretionary closure of some specific activities while protecting others does not seem to be supported, which shows once again the lack of objective criteria when adopting measures to penalize the activity of sectors that have been strict in compliance of prevention measures with employees and clients ", for which he urges the Government to modify" immediate "the Resolution of November 3, 2020, of the Ministry of Health," which establishes urgent measures of an extraordinary nature , urgent and temporary prevention, containment and coordination, necessary to face the health crisis caused by COVID-19 in the sense of protecting the opening to the public of retail stores and commercial establishments, as well as hotels and restaurants and centers sports, in the hygiene and sanitary conditions in force at the time of entry into force of said resolution for said establishments ", c oncludes.
