The VOX Asturias Parliamentary Group has forwarded a letter to the Bureau of the Chamber so that it can resume all parliamentary activities during the health crisis and enable the necessary telematic means that allow the holding of sessions by videoconference or other non-face-to-face means, guaranteeing attendance, monitoring, participation and telematic voting of deputies.

VOX Asturias explains that “in the same way that the General Meeting has been able to reach agreements that allow telematic voting, based on new technologies and to guarantee the vote of all deputies, as events are unfolding and in anticipation In order for this exceptional situation to continue over time, we propose the resumption of all the internal organs of the Asturian Chamber (Plenary, Commissions, Commission Tables and Presentations) with the aim of facilitating the action to promote and control the Government action entrusted by article 23 of the Statute of Autonomy of the Principality of Asturias ”.

In this situation, VOX Asturias considers that parliamentary activity should not be paralyzed and, therefore, urges the Chamber and the rest of parliamentary groups to accept its proposal and “to reconsider the agreement adopted by the Board of Spokesmen at its meeting dated 13 March 2020 "because" now, more than ever, it is necessary to ensure the well-being of Asturians and exercise parliamentary control of the Government and articulate, among all, measures to mitigate the effects of this pandemic.
