The VOX Parliamentary Group has formally requested in writing to the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Asturias (TSJA) his collaboration to know the real scope of the number of deaths due to COVID-19 in the region. VOX Asturias has asked the highest court of the Principality to urge the Principality's Civil Registers to prepare a report on the number of deaths, as well as the causes of death since February, and until the end of the pandemic , in the region. "We believe that these data, protected by the independence that governs the actions of the Judiciary, represent an authorized source to be able to apply it to the statistics for the arrest of the plague," explains the spokesman for the training, Ignacio Blanco.

Likewise, the Parliamentary Group has asked the head of the TSJA to order that, from now on, it be ensured that the most precise possible identification of the cause of death is made in all those cases in which pathological processes or causes appear. can be considered compatible or suspicious with the coronavirus in the Principality. "From VOX Asturias we consider that not only a duty of justice with the Spanish people, but a necessary tool to be able to fight the pandemic and effectively prevent future outbreaks, that the public authorities make the figure known to all society with absolute transparency of people who have died from COVID-19. The importance and urgency of determining, with all possible accuracy, the actual number of victims also lies in the need to understand the disease, calculate the expansion of the disease and verify the terrible effects that it is leaving behind, "says the spokesman. from VOX.

For all these reasons, and "in the interest of the public interest, as well as its need to guarantee the fundamental rights of Spaniards, the members of the Parliamentary Group have addressed the President of the TSJA to, in the exercise of the inspection functions that attributes Article 58 of the Decree of November 14, 1958, which approves the Regulation for the application of the Civil Registry Law, requires the necessary information from the Civil Registries of its jurisdiction to know the real data, "explains Blanco .

In this sense, the spokesperson recalls that "the Presidency of the Superior Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha has already published a report prepared on the basis of the actual data submitted by the Civil Registries of the region." For this reason, and after what happened in other autonomous communities, from VOX Asturias, with the aim of knowing the incidence of the pandemic and helping to tackle the effects of COVID-19, "we have decided to ask the president of the TSJA for his cooperation, which we understand in turn, it is a requirement and a social outcry, given the exceptional situation that Asturias and Spain are going through as a result of the pandemic that unfortunately has caused and continues to cause thousands of deaths in our country, ”concludes Ignacio Blanco.
