For the next plenary session, which is the first ordinary after the declaration of the state of alarm, VOX has presented a motion interesting a series of measures, which include a fiscal contingency plan, another to reduce unnecessary spending, and insist on requesting authorization to allocate the municipal allocation to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.

Councilors Zambrano and Paredes insist on the need to clearly identify what are, at the moment, the priorities of municipal spending.

For VOX these priorities cannot be other than to attend to the economic needs of families, self-employed workers and local companies, prevent possible outbreaks, and be prepared for what may happen in the coming months.

The Municipal VOX Group has insisted that, likewise, those items of expenditure that are not necessary must be identified.

According to VOX councilors, “the municipal government must assume that this is not the time for arrogant attitudes, but rather to focus on the needs of the people. There will be time to discuss personal or ideological projects. Now is the time to focus on what's important. Health prevention and alleviating the social and economic crisis must condition spending and decisions in the coming months. ”

Likewise, VOX has regretted that it has not received a formal reply on various issues that have been raised in these weeks, as well as how little information it has received. "We believe that the opposition has been better informed by the press than by the municipal government itself, and the briefs submitted have not been answered."

Among other issues, VOX has been interested in improving WIFI services in areas where it was malfunctioning and was necessary to attend teleworking, and asked questions such as the COVID-19 test for municipal staff (especially those most exposed, such such as local police), aid to local commerce, SMEs and the self-employed, and has requested copies of payment records from ESISA. For now, the silence has been the answer, so he hopes that these and other questions will be answered in this next plenary session.
