The Municipal Group of VOX in the City of Granada visited the Albaicín today after learning about the concerns of the residents and checking the security and crime problems in the neighborhood, such as illegal occupations and robberies.

Neighbors have conveyed to the VOX councilors their concern about the insecurity in the streets of the Albaicín, denouncing the commission of robberies in private homes and businesses, as well as assaults and intimidation on public roads and even the occupation of houses, before the that we demand forcefulness from the Government Subdelegation and the Granada City Council to stop crimes in the neighborhood.

“The situation suffered by the Albaiciners is known, and there is great concern about the increase in violent episodes, such as the one that occurred a few days ago on Calle San José, when a neighbor broke the iron door of the cistern with a bottle of butane; the assault on a house on Calle San Andrés while its owners slept; or the arrest of three individuals when they forced a door and entered a carmen in the Albaicín ”, recalled Beatriz Sánchez Agustino, councilor for VOX.

Last February, the Citizen Protection Area of the Granada City Council launched a neighborhood patrol, with eight agents, to ensure the safety of the residents of the area. At the same time, he announced two police reference points -in the Casa de Zafra, and in the Albiacín Civic Center-, on Tuesdays from 10.00 to 11.00 hours, “a measure that seems scarce in view of the demands and concerns of the Albaiciners , and for this reason we demand a greater police presence and citizen attention ”, declared Beatriz Sánchez Agustino.
