Toledo, November 13, 2020. – The National VOX deputy, Inés Cañizares, together with members of VOX Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara and Toledo have held a telematic meeting with the Association of Autonomous Workers of Castilla-La Mancha (ATA CLM).

The Regional Secretary of the association, José Luis Perea, has conveyed to this formation his concern about the alarming situation faced by the self-employed in Spain and, especially, in Castilla-La Mancha.

In our Region, nearly 400 self-employed workers have been lost in recent months, a figure that is higher than the national average, with Cuenca being the most affected province and the worst hit sectors, industry, commerce and hospitality.

The accumulation of debts, taxes and other obligations means that many are working without obtaining any benefit and, in many cases, without even covering expenses, which leads them to close their businesses.

During the meeting, it was also highlighted that the measures adopted by the central and regional government have been insufficient, which has led ATA to prepare a decalogue of emergency measures that must be put in place urgently to save the self-employed, companies and jobs. Perea stressed that "it is necessary to lower social security contributions and self-employed quotas, extend ERTES and aid for cessation of activity until May 31, or reduce VAT for hotels, hairdressers, gyms, etc."

For his part, Cañizares has transferred to the association the measures that VOX already presented on March 31, among which are proposals such as the approval of a National Economic Emergency Plan, the suspension of taxes on companies and individuals; the exemption of the payment of the part of the capital in the repayment installment of the mortgage loans or to allow the rescue of pension funds and savings plans.

For VOX, thousands of workers are losing their businesses every day and left-wing governments, both nationally and regionally, only think of confining and restricting freedoms.
