The Municipal Group of VOX in the Torrejón del Rey City Council has responded to the call and complaints of the residents of the Las Castillas urbanization. The objective was to know first-hand the situation they continue to endure with the ineffective garbage collection. Until the place they moved the spokesperson for training in the Torrejonero consistory Gema Saavedra, he Vice Speaker Miguel Ángel Zaurín and the local coordinator Belén Manzano. This is not a new issue for VOX, which already presented a motion rejected by the Torrejón socialist government in August 2019. During this year there have been many occasions in which residents have continued to convey their concern to us about the neglect of the Torrejón city council. There is a lack of personnel, a lack of bins in many areas, so garbage ends up being deposited outside, as well as a low frequency of collection of waste such as plastics and packaging, among others.
Gema Saavedra has assured that “The municipal representatives must assume the errors and the economic, material and human resource mismanagement that currently exists in the Campiña Baja Commonwealth of which we are part. They have already raised the garbage rate by 37.2% and it does not affect the improvement of the service ”. Delving into the matter, his partner Miguel Ángel Zaurín explained that “This government is always run over by circumstances, it is not able to organize the collection of pruning and garbage in a coherent way or to provide collection points for residents. In the end it seems to depend on the complaints of the neighbors on social networks. It is easy to guess that on weekends there is more demand, both for pruning and garbage and in summer too ”.
The Torrejonera spokesperson for the formation recalled that “Lately the government team of this council uses the excuse too often that certain serious problems that affect the town and that generate concern among the neighbors in the middle of the socio-sanitary crisis are not their responsibility. They do not defend before supra-municipal entities the interests of the municipality for which they are governing so as not to upset their socialist superiors ”.
Finally Zaurín wondered "Where have those times been when the socialists were in the opposition and presented a motion to resolve this issue or the promises in the electoral campaign to solve it. What is this city council for?"
