The councilor of VOX in the Santander City Council, Guillermo Pérez-Cosío, has denounced the lack of responsibility of the Government team by granting 68,615 euros to 18 associations for programs to promote "gender equality" in the midst of the economic and health crisis.

This economic item is within the 'Santander a punto' program and according to the mayor “it is the main reason why we do not support the Plan, despite having participated in the development of most of the socioeconomic measures that have been implemented in practice since then ”.

Pérez-Cosío regrets that "the Santander City Council follows to the letter the slogans of the left on equality, regardless of the waste of money that comes out of the pocket of the neighbors, who have a hard time earning it."

From VOX "we claim once again that the municipal government should reduce unnecessary spending and allocate public funds to aid to merchants, hoteliers and social emergency and not to continue indoctrinating Santander in inequality between the sexes, which is what really is hides behind the 'progressive' label of gender equality ”. "The only policy that should be promoted now is social," the mayor has qualified.

"That scandalous lack of respect that‘ some and some ’show public money leads them to redouble subsidies that, on the other hand, these beach bars already receive from the socialist governments of Spain and our region," he said. "Meanwhile, those same governments forget about the growing difficulties that many of our neighbors have in their homes and businesses," he pointed out.

The shame of the ‘Philosophical Pandemic’

On the other hand, the municipal representative of VOX has described as "shameful" the program of activities called 'Philosophical Pandemic' promoted by the Department of Culture directed by Ciudadanos, initially endowed with a game of 15,000 euros in the same plan as' Santander a point'.

"From the orange weathervane and its councilor, Javier Ceruti, we are not surprised that these types of activities are promoted that follow the postulates of the most radical and totalitarian feminism," he asserted.

Pérez-Cosío "does not understand" how the PP allows his government partner to "waste public money" in this type of "inequality" talks that carry titles such as "The myths of the pandemic, a perspective from feminism."

“Without a doubt, these two assumptions were more than enough reason not to support the‘ Santander ready ’program, since we already saw then that this money should be used for real social policies. By ignoring us, now we find the philosophy and ‘equality’ used as a simple excuse to continue with the indoctrination that the left never forgets, not even in times of pandemic, ”concluded the VOX councilor.
