Manuel Martín Montero, provincial president of VOX Granada, and Cristina Jiménez, provincial deputy of VOX, have gone to the Alpujarra, together with the coordinators and supporters of VOX in Juviles and Mecina Bombarón, to learn about the reality of the agricultural sector, the problems and the possible solutions of the farmers of the region.

Participants have attended an explanation of the measures proposed by VOX to develop policies for aid and facilities for agriculture, as well as the problems of the Alpujarra in this sector, such as the need for anti-hail meshes above the level 900 meters, the growing invasion of wild boars and feral pigs that destroy crops, or the BIC areas of the Alpujarreña region.

Precisely the plenary session of the Diputación de Granada, at the initiative of the Vox Provincial Group, unanimously approved a motion last week to promote an institutional declaration in support of the Alpujarra agriculture, its ecological and environmental value, and its importance for avoid rural depopulation, as well as that the governing authorities of the Plans of the National Park and the Natural Park of Sierra Nevada are urged to authorize the placement of anti-hail mesh from June to September at levels above 900 meters.

Cristina Jiménez has insisted that it must be the Ministry of Environment of the Junta de Andalucía that regulates and allows the use of these meshes at levels greater than 900 meters. In addition, given the situation of defenselessness of the farmers, it has urged the suspension of more sanctioning procedures, as well as those already initiated, as long as the regulatory situation of the anti-hail meshes is clarified.

Mobilizations in favor of agriculture.

VOX Granada was present in the mobilization in favor of the field of February 19 to show its full support for the demands of farmers and the rural world, which see the price of their products falling more and more and ruins the sector.

Faced with this problem, among the measures proposed by VOX are the development of aid policies and facilities for entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas and projects that can develop the rural world; promote projects in the fields of organic farming, ecotourism, recovery and alternative energy (biomass), organic products and biodiversity; support for the rural family business; the promotion of local and handmade products through advertising campaigns and promotion of local markets; and the fight against depopulation in the rural world by promoting incentives for professionals in the rural world, promoting training courses and strengthening the associative fabric in the municipalities.
