The parliamentary group VOX has presented amendments to the budget earmarked for Social Policies and Services for an amount close to 20 million euros, with the aim of reinforcing aid to families, concerted education and care for the most disadvantaged.

During the debate in committee held this Wednesday in Parliament, VOX deputy Armando Blanco highlighted the 2.3 million euro departure for the expansion of the Princesa Letizia reception center, located in the Santander industrial area of Candina.

Vox considers it fundamental and fair to defend and protect all Spaniards "what worse are they having”. So, "the current saturation of the Princess Letizia center shows"- according to Blanco-"the abandonment of the PRC-PSOE government to the most vulnerable, and it is urgent that the effort made by the Santander city council be complemented by the regional government through these budgets”.

An idea supported by the city council of the capital, the councilor of VOX, Guillermo Pérez Cossío, for whom it is “a much needed investment " in the current context, since “With the economic and health crisis that we are going through, more and more neighbors are homeless. Not only in Santander, but even in other locations "

From VOX they recall that since the health crisis began, the center has welcomed more than a hundred people, with peaks of 66 people in a single day, and it has been necessary to incorporate more staff to be able to adequately serve all users. They also point out that this reception center offers not only accommodation and meals to homeless people, but also programs aimed at their promotion and job placement. According to Pérez Cossío it is “to these projects ”to those who "The taxpayer's money should be allocated to the authentic social emergency, and not to maintaining and subsidizing beach bars, which only benefit a few."
