Silvia Enríquez, the spokesperson for the Municipal VOX Group in the Santa Fe City Council, has communicated the return of 2,100 euros to the Santaferino Town Hall corresponding to the subsidy that as a political group receives monthly. This amount corresponds to what was paid in during the past year, from the Plenary of the constitution of the new corporation in June 2019 until July 2020.
The councilor of VOX has stated that "we want to be very rigorous with this money because of all the neighbors", since the control of spending and clarity in the accounts is a hallmark for VOX and "this is our way of working, after our first year in the City Council here we are rendering accounts ”.
Silvia Enríquez also pointed out that the return of the subsidy "is an exercise of transparency, but also of responsibility and loyalty with the people of Santa Fe who suffer the consequences of the pandemic", referring to the brutal economic crisis that has already left more than 3,000 unemployed in the municipality. In this sense, from VOX, they have proposed to the government team, by means of a letter, that they study how to get this money to the families and businesses in the municipality that need it most.
Referring to the subsidies that the rest of the political groups receive, the VOX mayor has valued that "the increase in subsidies and salaries a year ago was irresponsible and maintaining it now is an affront."
From VOX Santa Fe they have demanded that the new budgets promised by the municipal government for September include a plan for saving and prioritizing spending to concentrate all resources and face the pandemic and its dire consequences for the economy, for employment and for life of the neighbors.
