The councilor of Vox in the Santander City Council, Guillermo Pérez-Cosío, has celebrated that “the Government team has come to its senses and is going to return the amounts of the season tickets for the sports schools corresponding to the period of the pandemic in which no the courses have been held ”.

The response of the Department of Sports, managed by Citizens, comes after the question of the mayor Vox in the Governing Council of the Municipal Institute of Sports (IMD) held last Friday.

"We are happy to know that the money will be returned to the families, since they have paid for a service that their children have not been able to enjoy," he said.

But from Vox "we also regret" that the new councilor has denied evidence and that is that "as different parents have sent us, in the new course of sports schools there are disciplines in which the same amount is being paid as the last year, but with half the hours due to Covid-19 ”.

An example of this is the football school that has maintained the price of 90 euros for registered persons and 110 euros for registered persons, "but reducing the number of hours by half".

In the 2019-2020 academic year, the hours were two days a week -Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday- and with two hours of duration per day. Also two Saturdays a month games were held between the children of the school for 90 minutes. On the other hand, for the current 2020-201 academic year, the days are maintained, but the daily activity is reduced to one hour. “We have also been informed that children are not allowed to play games and even though it is advertised on the web www.santanderdeportes.es that there are Saturdays, it is not true, ”says Pérez-Cosío.

"From Vox we will demand explanations to know what are the reasons why families are paying the same registration price as last year when they are practicing half the hours," said the councilor.
