Cartagena, Lorca and Molina have more than 375,000 inhabitants and their Courts are scattered throughout different areas, slowing down the work of Attorneys and Attorneys who are sometimes forced to leave a trial and have to travel around the city to go to another court. . "These three cities in the Region of Murcia suffer from a deficit of judicial infrastructures as reflected in the last Judicial Report of the province," he commented the senator of VOX, José Manuel Marín.

In the case of Cartagena, everything depends on the City Council taking over the lands corresponding to the Ministry of Defense to transfer them to the Ministry of Justice, both of which depend on the General State Administration, so it would be simpler, in our opinion, for These lands will pass directly from one Ministry to the other.
Regarding Lorca, the delay in execution seems to be due to the "disastrous technical project that was developed, which was full of errors and defects", and is currently in talks between the Ministry of Justice and the successful bidder to try to solve them .

In Molina de Segura it is necessary to complete the cession of the land and to be able to carry out the necessary tenders. The City Council is going to carry out the implementation of the City of Justice in plenary session on a site that is within the town but very close to a park, a school and an institute, which apparently upsets the neighbors because they consider that it should be done outside.

Therefore, VOX has submitted an amendment to the Motion urging the Government to promote the Cities of Justice of Cartagena, Lorca and Molina de Segura in the sense that all the aforementioned operations are carried out as soon as possible due to the urgency in infrastructure of the administration of justice in the Region of Murcia.

In fact, last May the Minister of Justice declared that if the Town Councils make the land available to them, “the priority in the Region of Murcia is the City of Justice of Cartagena, as are those of Lorca and Molina de Safe. As soon as the land is available, the project and execution will be undertaken. But in the meantime, it will not make other efforts to raise those buildings.

In the case of Cartagena, the land belongs to the General Administration of the state, attached to the Ministry of Defense, and must be owned by the Ministry of Justice, which is also part of the General Administration of the State. “Therefore, at VOX we ask ourselves, wouldn't it be more reasonable that instead of the Cartagena City Council buying the site from Defense to later transfer it to Justice, a change of assignment of the land was made from one Ministry to another, since the free transfer only makes sense when the State lacks land and the City Council already has them? ”.

In Lorca, the Government delegate in Murcia indicated that they were working to unblock the situation, but the reality is that the works awarded "two years ago for almost 7 million euros should have been completed in May but the company did not start them. ”, Based on the fact that the conservation of the historical facades of the perimeter of the site and the problems in the water table made it unfeasible to build the building for that price.

Finally, regarding the situation in Molina de Segura, the City Council has already offered two valid locations to start up the judicial headquarters, "while awaiting a response from the Ministry of Justice," the senator specified.
VOX has finally voted in favor of this motion for the benefit of the residents of the Region of Murcia.
