Cádiz, August 16, 2020.– The president of the Recovery Commission, Manuel Gavira, has denounced the defenselessness of the hospitality and nightlife sector in the face of the new restrictions that Health intends to impose to stop the advance of the COVID-19 pandemic after the reactivation of positive cases in the last days.

Gavira believes that a sector that already accumulates losses after months of closures due to confinement cannot be closed without elaborating a rescue plan, and asks not only PP and Cs, but all political groups with representation in Parliament to join forces to save a sector that contributes 15% to the GDP of our region.

In addition, the VOX deputy wanted to show his support for the group, with whom he has already held a telephone meeting this Sunday to put himself at their disposal and raise before the Parliament and the Commission as many initiatives as necessary to avoid what may be the extinction of thousands of businesses and the destruction of hundreds of thousands of jobs in Andalusia.

Manuel Gavira has also regretted the lack of definition of the Moreno Bonilla government and the opacity in the face of the self-employed and businessmen in the sector who on many occasions find out from the media about the regulations that affect them without anyone having agreed to any measure with them. .

In fact, the representatives of the sector have transferred to Gavira that they have the feeling that both the government and the Junta de Andalucía are improvising and are not coordinated, as would be expected in these difficult times in which the future is no longer at stake of a group of businessmen but of a whole country.

Finally, Manuel Gavira has reiterated his commitment to a key sector for the Andalusian economy and has announced that the GP VOX in Parliament will support HORECA's request to hold an urgent meeting with the executive to create a roadmap to avoid a massacre in the Andalusian hospitality sector.
