The municipal group VOX in the City Council of Zaragoza has achieved the withdrawal of ordinance 1 in the extraordinary commission of the Presidency, Finance and Interior held yesterday. The purpose, defend vulnerable families and coexistence units.

In the plenary session held in October 2019, all the groups voted in favor of a motion defended by the VOX councilor, Carmen Rouco, to achieve a 50% discount on the payment of municipal taxes for IBI, cemetery and car aimed especially at particularly vulnerable living units.

As it has not been incorporated into the ordinances, VOX has requested that it be incorporated as an additional provision in this ordinance number 1. Consequently, the Government has withdrawn the ordinance to incorporate this 50% bonus.

“We have achieved the withdrawal of ordinance number 1. We have asked that an additional provision be introduced to incorporate aid to vulnerable families. There was tax aid for vulnerable families that was mainly aimed at widowed women with very low pensions. An intervention report advised that these aids be withdrawn because their processing cost as much as the aid that was being granted by the City Council.

In this report, it was said that they were clearly insufficient aid in its management. In October of last year we presented a motion – approved by all groups – requesting that either these grants be maintained by improving their processing. Either they will be incorporated as a bonus to tax ordinances.

We have seen that they had not been incorporated as a bonus to the ordinances. Therefore, we have requested that it be incorporated as an additional provision in this ordinance number 1. The Government has agreed to withdraw it to include this 50% discount for the most vulnerable families”, Has summarized the spokesman Julio Calvo.
