YE. King Felipe VI has received in audience at the Royal Palace of Madrid the members of Eurodefense-Spain, led by its president, Gabriel del Toro, and the director of the Higher Center for National Defense Studies (CESEDEN), Francisco de Paula Bisbal, on the occasion of the celebration of the XXV anniversary of the creation of this organization dedicated to the study and reflection on issues related to security and defense.
The members of the delegation have presented to the monarch their vision of the current situation, and have presented the main objectives of the organization for the year that now begins.
The Eurodefense-Spain association was born in 1995 by a collaboration agreement signed between CEOE and CESEDEN. It is part of the European network of Eurodefense, which currently includes associations from 14 countries of the European Union plus the United Kingdom, and its components include diplomats and senior officers of the three armies, in situations other than active duty, as well as businessmen and university professors, among other professionals.
Within the framework of the European Eurodefense network, Eurodefense-Spain is the leading association of the Mediterranean Observatory and the Migration Observatory. The main purposes of the organization are the promotion of the spirit of national security and defense and the promotion of knowledge by Spanish society of matters related to this area, as well as the presence and contribution of Spain to the needs of European security and defense . In addition, the association seeks to deepen the studies aimed at the development of the Common Security and Defense Policy of the European Union; reflect on the situation of the Spanish defense industry to support its development; as well as to become a forum for meeting and discussing these issues for study at the national level and within the framework of the Eurodefense network.
CEOE, through the Spanish Association of Defense, Security, Aeronautics and Space Technology Companies (TEDAE) which integrates, supports and values the Spanish companies that are part of the Spanish defense industry, technologically leading companies, competitive and have great international prestige.
