The CEOE Foundation will incorporate Marcos Peña, who was president of the Economic and Social Council (CES) for 12 years, a consultative body on economic and labor matters made up of representatives of business and union organizations, as well as of the government.

With this new accession, the CEOE Foundation plans to incorporate Peña's valuable vision and extensive experience, coinciding with the launch of the EMPRESAS QUE AYUDAN project, which will serve to coordinate the voluntary contributions of Spanish companies to cover the needs detected in the fight against COVID-19.

In this way, the CEOE Foundation continues to strengthen its patronage after the incorporation of former CEIM President Juan Pablo Lázaro; from the Board of Directors of CEOE Joan Gaspart; and the former Minister of Employment Fátima Báñez.

Marcos Peña is one of the most respected figures in the workplace, given his experience and knowledge of collective bargaining, and has been appointed as arbitrator and mediator of labor conflicts of a national dimension.

He has a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Labor and Social Security inspector. Within his extensive career, he has held the positions of Secretary General for Health, as well as Employment and Labor Relations, and has chaired the CES between 2006 and 2019.

In June of last year, he joined the board of directors of Laboratorios Farmacéuticos ROVI as an independent external director.
