The Civil Guard dismantles an organization specialized in house robbery by the "bumping" method

They placed plastic markers in the houses to know if their inhabitants were at home or not

To date, they have been charged with 42 robberies with force in inhabited homes located in Rivas Vaciamadrid, Madrid and Getafe

The Civil Guard, within the framework of the “Habitat Lockpick” operation, has dismantled a criminal organization specialized in robberies with force in inhabited houses located in different municipalities of the Community of Madrid, using the “bumping” method.

The beginning of the investigation began as a result of several complaints from residents of the town of Rivas Vaciamadrid, in which they claimed to have been victims of a robbery at their homes. After comparing the complaints, the agents were able to verify a series of coincidences regarding the modus operandi, which made the investigators suspect that a perfectly organized group was behind the authorship of the robberies.
Continuing with the investigations, it was learned that this group of people always acted at night, two components traveling to the area chosen to commit the robberies. Next, one of the members placed plastic witnesses on the doors of the selected homes, while another member of the group performed surveillance functions so as not to be surprised.
After two or three days they returned to the blocks where they had placed the plastic markers and proceeded to force the locks with “bumping” keys of the houses that still kept the marker, a sign that the door had not been opened by its rightful owners in those two three days.
Once inside the houses, they proceeded to get hold of all the valuables that were in their path, having a preference for jewelery, watches, accessories and small electronic and computer devices that were easy to transport.
To travel to the chosen homes, they used two vehicles that they parked in remote streets. It should be noted that they used the cavities of the engine of one of the vehicles to hide the tools they used to open the locks and in the other they kept the plastic markers. Likewise, they used an electric scooter to carry out surveillance functions in the area when they were perpetrating the robberies.
Given the seriousness of the events and the high criminal activity that the group had, an entry and search was made at their home in Rivas Vaciamadrid, where the agents found a multitude of effects from the robberies.
Most of these consisted of jewelery, watches, electronic and computer devices, handbags, sunglasses, knives, a simulated pistol with blank cartridges, numerous sets of keys and tools, as well as 2000 euros in fractional currency and foreign currency banknotes.
To date, they have been charged with the responsibility of 42 crimes of robbery with force in inhabited homes located in Rivas Vaciamadrid, Madrid and Getafe, not ruling out the agents, given the volume of intervened effects, their participation in others.
The three detainees are two men and one woman, aged between 26 and 43 years old, who have been placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, which decreed the entry into prison of two of them.
The operation has been carried out by agents of the Civil Guard bound for the Investigation Area and the Rivas Vaciamadrid Judicial Police Team.
