The senators of the PP for Guadalajara and Zaragoza, Antonio Román and José Manuel Aranda, respectively, have presented in the Chamber Registry, a motion for discussion and vote in the Committee on Transportation, Mobility and Urban Agenda, requesting Government that the AVLO train make stops in the 5 expeditions planned in each direction, at the stations of Camp de Tarragona, Lleida, Zaragoza, Calatayud and Guadalajara-Yebes.
Similarly, the popular motion asks the Executive to adopt this measure as soon as possible from a technical point of view, and in any case before July 1, 2020.
The initiative of the PP in the Senate indicates that the AVLO train, which will be launched on April 6, is not an initiative that belongs to the current Government, which has announced it, but is the result of RENFE's continued work since the previous Government of the PP, chaired by Mariano Rajoy.
In this sense, the text registered by the popular states that the then Minister of Development, Íñigo de la Serna, announced in February 2018 that RENFE would put into operation in 2019 a 'low cost AVE' baptized with the name EVA, which would have 5 daily frequencies per direction Madrid-Barcelona, which could carry around 1 million annual travelers who would benefit not only from its price, but also in innovation, digitalization and personalization of the service.
