Madrid, November 16, 2020. – The VOX Parliamentary Group in the Madrid Assembly has sent a letter of defense to the Board of the Social Policies Commission after it has breached the Regulation and has not allowed its deputies to defend themselves from the attacks of Podemos during the session of this Monday.
The VOX spokespersons in said commission, Mariano Calabuig and Alicia Rubio, have left the session after being repeatedly insulted by the purple deputy Paloma García Villa, who called the VOX deputies “neo-Nazis”. Specifically, he expressly cited Rocío Monasterio and Iván Espinosa de los Monteros, but also other “deputies” of VOX in the Madrid Chamber.
For this reason, VOX requests the warning from García Villa, but also demands explanations from the Committee's Table, chaired by the Citizens' Deputy Marta Marbán, who prevented the VOX deputies from exercising their legitimate defense by preventing them from taking the floor for allusions direct, as indicated in the Regulations of the Assembly.
VOX considers it intolerable that insults of this type are allowed, which are an attack on millions of Spaniards who have voted for this formation and which degrade the institutions. In addition, the insults and institutionalized attacks are later reflected in the street, as evidenced by the attacks received by several of our councilors and deputies, as well as the vandalization of our headquarters. VOX demands the right to dissent from the respect of all parliamentary groups and condemns all kinds of aggressions, which should not be allowed in any case in the institutions.
