The president of Ciudadanos is committed to 'freezing jobs and the economy to thaw them later and not destroy them'

The president of Ciudadanos (Cs), Inés Arrimadas, has assured that "now the first thing is to save lives, but we must also save jobs", referring to the crisis caused by the coronavirus. "In the health field, the most important thing is the sanitary materials so that all the people who are working on the streets providing essential services are protected," said the leader of the liberal training, who has also asked the government to approve measures to save the self-employed who "have been forced to close their businesses but have to fulfill their tax obligations." "In a few days the freelancers will have to pay the taxes and some will have to ask for a loan," he lamented.

In an interview in Telemadrid's 'Café y parole', Arrimadas highlighted the importance of "freezing jobs and the economy to thaw them later and not destroy them." In addition, in the economic sphere, he has proposed the conversion of non-essential industries to manufacture products that are now necessary, such as respirators, and recalled that "in other countries there are packages of measures that protect the self-employed much more."

"We have been the first to reach out to the government and be proactive," said the president of Cs, who has also assured that the liberal formation is a "loyal opposition."
