The president of CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, together with the president of the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CEPYME), Gerardo Cuerva, and the general secretaries of CCOO and UGT, Unai Sordo and Pepe Álvarez, respectively, have signed in the headquarters of the SIMA Foundation in Madrid the VI Agreement for the Autonomous Resolution of Labor Disputes (ASAC).
The event was also attended by the Director of Employment, Diversity and Social Protection of CEOE, Rosa Santos; CEPYME's Director of Socio-Labor, Teresa Díaz de Terán; the secretary of Union Action of CCOO Mª Cruz Vicente; and the confederal secretary of the UGT, Isabel Araque, who have been the negotiators of the Agreement.
The Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz; the Secretary of State for Employment, Joaquín Pérez Rey; the General Director of Labor, Verónica Martínez; and the president of the SIMA Foundation, Elena Gutiérrez, were also present during the signing of the VI ASAC.
The president of CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, has highlighted the importance of the Agreement signed today because "it values the bipartite social dialogue between unions and companies". "Social dialogue is the best infrastructure a country can have, it is social peace," said the president of the entrepreneurs, and added: "We have the capacity to reach agreements and we even often agree to disagreements."
Referring to the situation in the country at the moment, President Garamendi has closed his speech by highlighting: "Together we are more and we have gone much further."
