The Regional Business Confederation Extremeña, CREEX, has shown its support for the N-430 Citizen Platform that claims the conversion of this highway into a highway. The secretary general of the CREEX, Javier Peinado, and the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Badajoz, Mariano García Sardiña, have held a meeting with the representatives of the collective that demands the immediate start-up of the doubling works of the current N-430, during which they have expressed their full support for the requirement.
“We do not understand the delay accumulated by the different governments (remember that the highway conversion was announced more than two decades ago), when It is a totally necessary infrastructure, due to the risk that the current road now poses to people, the traffic density it supports, largely medium and long-distance heavy vehicles, and the fact that it must be the connection that vertebrates the Siberian area, ” Javier Peinado explained.
CREEX will promote a Social and Political Pact that supports the citizen demand and that reinforces the demands and the actions demanded by the citizen group.
The conversion of the N-430 into a highway to connect with the A-43 – known as the Levante Highway – is a project that was announced no less than in 1998, with nothing more advanced than in some previous studies. In fact, the delay is such that in 2009 it was learned that the environmental impact study had to be remade. Since then there has been no more news.
The current A-43 connects Ciudad Real with Valencia, and For Extremadura, connecting from Torrefresneda would mean having a fast and safe route for travelers and goods between Badajoz and Valencia without having to go through Madrid. CREEX, as the most representative organization of the Extremaduran business community, supports this mobilization as fair and, in addition, they intend to go further, claiming the involvement of political groups and representatives of the social fabric to show a compact front when demanding before the Government of Spain that is approached from 'already' with deadline commitments this much needed work.
