With the arrest of two British men, the Civil Guard has managed to clarify the shooting murder of a man in Mijas (Málaga). The events occurred last November when a man of English nationality was gunned down in his vehicle.

Investigators point to rivalry between two drug trafficking organizations as the primary motive for the murder. From the first moment, the Civil Guard knew that the victim – of British nationality – had numerous criminal records for crimes committed in the United Kingdom.

Thanks to coordination with the British police authorities, the officers obtained the identity of the two suspects in the crime. Both belonged to an important criminal organization in that country, dedicated to the acquisition, transportation and distribution of marijuana.

The assassins moved from England to Barcelona, where they rented a vehicle with which they traveled to Mijas (Malaga). For several days they followed the victim until choosing the right moment to shoot him. The careful choice of the place and time to commit the murder demonstrates the criminal experience, cold blood and dangerousness of the two detainees.

One of the perpetrators of the crime was detained in the United Kingdom, and sent to prison for other previous crimes he had committed in that country. A European Arrest and Delivery Order (OEDE) is in process so that the Spanish justice can judge him by the murder committed in our country.

The other detainee spent five months traveling to different European and South American countries. With the state of alarm decreed, he returned to Spain and settled in a hamlet of Murcia.

There he has been detained by civil guards from the Special Intervention Unit (U.E.I.), in a house used to prepare marijuana shipments.

At the time of the arrest, officers have found 20 kilograms of this vacuum-packed drug. They have also arrested another member of the drug trafficking organization.

The operation has been carried out by the Malaga Command with the support of the Murcia Command and the Manchester Police (United Kingdom). Given the dangerous nature of the detainees, it has been necessary to have two elite units of the Corps, such as the GAR and the UEI.
