The dancer and choreographer Víctor Ullate he says goodbye to the stages after more than half a life dancing. And he does it in a very special way: commemorating the 30th anniversary of the creation of his own dance company in 1988. The Teatros del Canal de Madrid host until September 9th the show "Thirty Years of Dance", in which the training reviews its most emblematic creations for more than three hours. A feature that includes fragments of classics like Carmen, Coppélia or Samsara, with music from Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi or Bizet.
Teacher, choreographer and director
Member of the SGAE since 1983 as choreographer, has registered in the entity more than fifty works. Víctor Ullate Andrés (Zaragoza, 1947), considered by Maurice Béjart As one of the most complete dancers of this century, he has been the Spanish dancer with the greatest international projection of all time. His extraordinary classical technique, inculcated by María de Ávila, and his great love of dance, endowed him with an exceptional vocation and will that made him stand out as a soloist very soon. He began his professional career in the XX Century Ballet, under the direction of Maurice Béjart, in which he remained for fourteen years. Notable among its main roles is played in Gaîté Parisienne, created for him by Béjart on his own biography, where he gave life to Béjart himself.
In 1979, the Spanish government entrusted him with the formation of a classical ballet company; the first in the country. Later, in 1983, he created the school that bears his name "Víctor Ullate Dance Center"; turning in teaching and pedagogy. National Dance Award (1989), Gold Medal for Merit at Work (2016), It was MAX Honor Award in the year 2008.
From now on, Ullate will devote herself with passion to a new stage in her life and in ballet: the creation of the House of Dance for underprivileged children ("the dream of her life", in her own words).
