AMETIC, the employers of the digital industry, has presented this morning the program of its traditional Encounter of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications, Which this year celebrates its 33rd edition. It is an unmissable event in the national technological calendar and marks the beginning of the course of the sector in Spain. The Conference will have a broad business and institutional representation at the first national and European levels.

The Meeting, which will take place September 2 to 4 at the Palacio de la Magdalena of Santander within the framework of the summer courses of the Menéndez Pelayo International University, will bring together renowned speakers, senior representatives of Spanish and European public bodies, and top executives of the leading technology companies. The experts will present their reflections and opinions on the evolution of the sector and future trends related to the digital industry.

Under the motto, "The moment of digital reindustrialization", the main public and private actors of the technological sector, which contributes the most to the creation of employment and wealth, will put the focus on the promotion of innovation and reindustrialization of Spain, through digitalization. In this sense, the current technological panorama and the creation of new multisector ecosystems will be addressed. The experts will also analyze the present and future demands, which will shape the new business opportunities for the Spanish digital industry, represented by AMETIC.

Thus, in the event, co-organized with the Banco de Santander, there will be keynote lectures and round tables, in order to promote the multilateral debate among the different actors of the sector from different perspectives: the ethics of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data; the connected vehicle and sustainable mobility; 5G; development of digital talent; cybersecurity; quantum computing; tractor projects; or the digitalization of SMEs, among others.

During the presentation of the program, Pedro Mier, president of AMETIC, pointed out that "it is a pleasure to celebrate the 33rd edition of the Santander days, where the main actors of the digital industry come together to tackle the challenges presented by digitization in the society". Also, Mier has claimed that "Spain is placed in the elite of the most technologically advanced countries of the European Union, from concrete actions, and the provision of sufficient resources to achieve it"
