The president of Cs proposes 'an increase in investment in research and science' and a 'talent return plan'

“We need an intelligent confinement with more teleworking, massive tests and direct aid to the affected sectors. We cannot focus only on restrictive measures ”, said the president of Ciudadanos (Cs), Inés Arrimadas, at the 'Telematic meeting for science' in which she participated this morning together with the Co-Director of the National Center for Biotechnology attached to the CSIC and responsible for the Spanish Covid-19 vaccine, Isabel Sola; the Deputy Head of Emergencies of the Ramón y Cajal Hospital, César Carballo; and the Spanish virologist at the Icahn School of Medicine at the Monte Sinaí Hospital in New York, Ana Fernández Sesma, to analyze the evolution of the pandemic and the importance of science in our country. "We want all available resources to be used so that there is a health highway that accelerates the vaccination plan, because each day of vaccinations is one less day of restrictions."

The president of the orange training has stressed that "the pandemic has reminded many people of the importance of science and research", which is why Cs has proposed "an increase in investment and a return plan for talent." “We propose to increase investment to 2% of GDP as the European average, less bureaucratic red tape and guarantee the stability of the funds dedicated to research. The most difficult thing we have, the talent and the vocation, but we need to create a favorable ecosystem in Spain ", since, he assures," many scientists and researchers would like to return. "

Arrimadas also pointed out the importance of Spain "preparing for the creation of its own health industry". He recalled that "we have had many months for this national commitment, manufacture of PCR tests, PPE or what is necessary to vaccinate", and urged "to learn from this pandemic and get used to the idea that it will not be the last."
