The president of VOX Ceuta, Juan Sergio Redondo, this Tuesday gave Caritas half of the allowance received, so far, for his attendance at the Port Authority Board of Directors, of which he has been a member since last February. The other half will be delivered tomorrow to Autismo Ceuta, since after becoming part of this council, Redondo announced that the financial compensation would be donated because VOX is committed to eliminating diets. This was requested in February but, until this happens, these amounts will be donated to social entities.

Redondo, accompanied by Vice President I of the Assembly and VOX deputy, Francisco Ruiz, visited the Cáritas Diocesana de Ceuta facilities, located on Clara Campoamor street. A logistics center from where they distribute food to more than 700 families in the city. There they have been able to check how the supermarket works where people go by appointment, to avoid crowds due to the pandemic, and buy the food they need, as well as basic hygiene and cleaning products, depending on the number of family members .

The director of Cáritas Diocesana de Ceuta, Manuel Gestal, has been satisfied with this donation. "Any help, wherever it comes from, is well received because the need is great," he said to recall how "the pandemic is hitting families hard and there are entities that are overwhelmed." "We appreciate any donation, and in this case to VOX, for this initiative that affects our users, who are important," he stressed.

"It was a commitment acquired before the pandemic to donate it to social entities when he received the diet for attending the Port Council, ”said Redondo. The president of VOX Ceuta recalled that training is committed to ending this type of diet because it is “excessive”. "We believe that they should not exist and, for this reason, we have sent these financial compensation to the people who need it most, and especially in the critical situation that we are going through," he said.
