The deputy of Cs denounces 'the recurring episodes of violence' by 'separatist radical groups' who intend to forcefully impose their political theses

"The burning of a flag is an example of an appeal to hate that should be condemned by the Parliament." This has been said by the deputy of Citizens (Cs), Nacho Martín Blanco, in his defense of the Proposal for a Resolution condemning the violent acts produced on September 11, 2019 when a flag of Spain was burned, there was an attempted assault to the Parliament of Catalonia and there were insults and attacks on journalists. The initiative that has been rejected in the Committee on Institutional Affairs urged to condemn this type of "vandalism attacks" and declare "that no political objective can be achieved through violence."

Martín Blanco has denounced “the recurring episodes of violence” and increasingly “more serious” by “radical separatist groups” that seek to impose their political theses “by force, with violence and without respecting the most basic fundamental rights and public freedoms in a democratic state. " And he recalled that these groups are summoned and encouraged by the highest levels of the Government of the Generalitat, in reference to the "squeeze, squeeze" of President Quim Torra.

The orange deputy has also lamented the burning of the flag of Spain, "a constitutional symbol that represents all Spaniards" and added that he condemns "with equal force the burning of a Spanish flag as the burning of a Catalan 'senyera'" . Finally, Martín Blanco has appealed to “respect for the symbols that represent us all” and urged the Government not to be connivent with these “radical separatist groups”.
