VOX Ceuta is concerned about how the start of the school year will develop since, with less than a month for students to fly to classrooms, it is unknown if the teaching staff is going to be strengthened as recommended by the Forum of Education, and if finally the students will go to classes in shifts. Therefore, the training asks the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MEFP) to clarify, as soon as possible, what will happen with the new school year.

This is a course in which, according to the Provincial Directorate of the MEFP in Ceuta, for security reasons and to avoid the spread of Covid-19, two shifts of attendance to class could be established in Infant and Primary (from 8.00 to 11.00 and from 12.00 to 15.00 hours from Monday to Friday) and face-to-face on alternate days from Monday to Thursday for higher levels. However, this schedule has not yet been confirmed, which is causing uncertainty among families, who must organize to reconcile work and return to their children's educational centers.

Both the Government Delegation and the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Education are responsible for this uncertainty since both administrations should have resolved this problem in time for families to organize themselves to make their children's school attendance compatible with their working hours. A situation for which the national deputy of VOX for Ceuta, Teresa López, already asked the Government weeks ago. The Ceuta parliamentarian registered a question to know if the teaching staff in the city will increase and also if teachers will be tested for the coronavirus. "Is the Government going to respond to the request of the Ceuta Education Forum in its interest of increasing the teaching staff by 25% in both cities?", Asked López, who has not yet received a response.

In addition, given the possibility of a school year with two turns of attendance, the national deputy of VOX asked the Executive how it will help to promote the reconciliation of this "new school normal" and working life. "Will this measure also bring changes in the hours of working days? How is he going to do it? ”Asked López. Questions that have not been answered by the Executive despite the fact that there is little left for the start of the new course. "It is surprising that, less than a month after classes begin, there is still no definitive proposal," says VOX Ceuta

Also note that the national deputy of VOX for Ceuta will take to Congress the question of why Ceuta has been left out in the distribution of funds from the Reinforcement, Orientation and Support Program (PROA) by the State, “so necessary for our city ”affirms López. A program that aims to launch territorial cooperation, through the competent educational administrations, in support of this new very special academic year caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
